A man connected with a Wednesday morning armed burglary in Woodbridge was shot dead by police in Dumfries, authorities said.
The burglary happened around 11:47 a.m. in the 1500 block of Indiana Ave., according to the Prince William County police. Around 1:39 p.m., officers found a vehicle connected with the burglary in Triangle.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody, police said, but the passenger fled on foot.

After a search, police found him in a wooded area off Jefferson Davis Hwy. in the area of Bradys Hill Rd. The man was armed with a handgun, police said, and was shot after he advanced toward officers and did not follow their commands.
He died at the scene, according to police.
The incident remains under investigation. More information about the man killed, the officer who shot him and the man taken into custody was not immediately available.
