Great Falls chef Jacques Haeringer, owner of L'Auberge Chez François , was arrested Monday and charged with brandishing a weapon and driving while intoxicated, according to police.

Haeringer was involved in a heated argument with a contractor he had just fired. Fairfax County Police Officer Shelley Broderick said.

When the contractor returned to the restaurant to collect his belongings, Broderick said, the chef pointed a BB gun at him.

When Haeringer took off in his car, the contractor called police, Broderick said. The chef was apprehended the same day.

The story was first reported by FOX.
