Prince George’s police investigate District Heights woman’s death as homicide

Prince George’s County police are investigating the death of a 32-year-old District Heights woman, who was found dead inside her apartment Wednesday, as a homicide, authorities said.

Patrol officers were called to check on Raquel Israel in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive about 9 a.m. Wednesday, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a spokesman. She was found unresponsive inside a bedroom, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Her death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy, but officials did not release the cause or manner of death. Detectives are trying to identify a suspect or motive in the case.
