Probation for former Va. police chief on larceny charge

BROOKNEAL, Va. — Brookneal’s former acting police chief has been sentenced to six years’ probation for his conviction on a grand larceny charge.

The News & Advance reports Brian Lee Carr was sentenced Wednesday in Campbell County Circuit Court.

Virginia State Police arrested Carr in April 2010 after undercover agents turned in a wallet to him as lost.

Several hundred dollars in cash was missing when they later claimed the wallet.
