Robert Fenn, former teacher, facing child porn charges

A former teacher from Herndon is facing federal charges for allegedly receiving and possessing child pornography, authorities said.

Robert Fenn, 27, was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday. He had taught at Poplar Tree Elementary School in Chantilly prior to his arrest on related state charges in June, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Fenn was indicted on one count of receipt of child pornography, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, and one count of possession of child pornography, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, authorities said.

Fenn was identified through an international child pornography sweep called “Operation Gondola,” authorities said. Fenn allegedly accessed a child pornography site and investigators found pornographic images on his computer, they said.
