Man dead after Saturday morning shooting in Northeast

A man was shot dead in Northeast Saturday morning, police said.

About 9:56 a.m., shots were fired in the 300 block of 18th Place NE, and police found a man suffering from life-threatening wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died, said police.

Police have not yet identified the man, and homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
