GREENBELT, Md. — A former UPS worker convicted of dozens of burglaries and armed home invasions is being sentenced in federal court.

Jason Scott is scheduled to learn his fate Tuesday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Greenbelt.

A jury convicted Scott in July of crimes committed during more than 50 burglaries and nine armed home invasion robberies.

Those convictions include armed carjacking, child pornography and other crimes.

Scott faces separate murder charges in the killing of a mother and daughter whose bodies were found inside a burning car in Largo. That case is scheduled to go to trial later this year in Prince George’s County Circuit Court.

Scott has been in custody since 2009.

U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein is scheduled to discuss the case after the sentencing.
