Shot fired at PG police in Forestville

Ashot was fired Monday morning at Prince George’s County police officers as they broke down a steel door while executing a search warrant, authorities said.

County police said officers were trying to get into a house in the 3300 block of Walters Lane. After repeatedly announcing their presence, and just before they got inside, the shot was fired, they said. It lodged in the door, police said.

Police said they believed the assailant’s gun jammed during the incident in the 3300 block of Walters Lane. That apparently prevented the firing of more shots, they said.

Police said Jeremiah Ronald Pearson, 25, of the 3300 block of Walters Lane in Forestville was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
