Skeletal remains identified as missing Prince George’s woman

Remains found in a state park in January have been identified as those of a missing Prince George’s County woman, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Crystal Keyona Anderson, 29, of Landover, was reported missing by her mother last August, officials said.

On Jan. 2, about 12:30 p.m., a hiker found partial human skeletal remains near Purse State Park in Nanjemoy. In the days that followed, search teams uncovered additional skeletal remains, officials said.

The remains were identified as Anderson’s on Feb. 21 after detectives in Prince George’s County contacted Charles County officials. Keyona had previously lived in Charles County.

The investigation is ongoing, officials said. Anyone with information about Anderson’s death can contact Detective J. Elliott at 301-609-6515 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
