Sketch released in Waldorf homicide

A police sketch of the suspect. (Charles County sheriff's office)
Police in Charles County are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an Oct. 26 homicide in Waldorf.

The Charles County sheriff’s office released a sketch Wednesday of a man they say is wanted in connection with the shooting of a man and woman on a path near Hampshire Circle. The woman died and the man was seriously wounded, police have said.

The sketch is of a man police say is a black male with a light complexion, possibly in his early 20s, standing about 6 feet tall with a slim build and, possibly, short, curly hair.

A $15,000 reward has been announced for a tip that leads to an arrest and indictment. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County sheriff’s office at 301-932-2222 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS; you can also text “CHARLES” and a tip to CRIMES or submit a tip online.
