Suspected Meth lab found in Adams Morgan apartment

D.C. Police drug investigators on Wednesday night found what authorities think is a methamphetamine lab during a search of an apartment in the Adams Morgan area, officials said.

Investigators executed a search warrant in a building in the 1800 block of Summitt Place NW about 9:30 p.m. in the Lanier Heights area, said Officer Hugh Carew. Police arrested one man on a distribution of cocaine charge, but no charges had been filed in relation to the other suspicious substances,he said.

Authorities continued late last night to try to determine the contents in the high-rise apartment building at 1845 Summitt Place.

Late Wednesday, Council member Jim Graham D (Ward-1) sent an email to residents to explain the large police and fire department presence at the scene.
