U.S. Capitol Police shut down streets around the U.S. Capitol building Thursday morning while they investigated a suspicious package.
Police said an officer saw a small metal cylinder on Pennsylvania Avenue NW around 7 a.m.
Shortly before 10 a.m. the device was removed by a bomb squad vehicle.
