An SUV taken Friday from a woman in Loudoun County was found Sunday in Kansas, and two men in the vehicle were taken into custody, authorities said.
The men were picked up near Garden City, Kan, in connection with a robbery and carjacking that occurred in Sterling , the Loudoun County sheriff’s office said.
They said the victim reported that a robber came from behind and held an unknown object to her neck, got her purse and then drove away in her 2006 Ford Expedition from a parking lot near a drugstore on Enterprise Street.
Information was entered in a national database, and the SUV was found by police in Kansas Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office said Jorge Alberto Castillo, 27, of Sterling was charged by Loudoun investigators with carjacking and abduction, and Juan Pablo Portillo-Alvarenga, 22, of Sterling has been charged with receiving stolen property.
