Synagogue vandalism may be hate crime: Police

(Courtesy of the Montgomery County police.)
Authorities are investigating vandalism at a Potomac synagogue as a possible hate crime, according to the Montgomery County police.

Six windows were damaged by BB gun pellets at the Beth Sholom Congregation on Seven Locks Road, police said. The vandalism was part of a series of similar incidents in the same area.

Six windows were shot out at Julius West Middle School in Rockville and two windows were shattered at businesses in the Fortune Terrace Shopping Center in Potomac, according to police. It appears a BB gun was used in both incidents. It’s unclear when the vandalism occurred.

Police released a still image of a gold, two-door vehicle seen at Fortune Terrace Shopping Center at the time of the vandalism.

Anyone with information about the case should call Montgomery County police at 240-773-6084. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477.
