Man, 18, charged with armed robbery at Silver Spring hotel

A Maryland teenager has been arrested for robbing eight guests at a hotel party in Silver Spring.

Jackson Julius, 18, allegedly interrupted a party in a room at the Homewood Suites Hotel in Silver Spring shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday.

Armed with a sawed-off shotgun, Julius allegedly took cash, personal items, phones and other electronics from the eight victims. He put everything in a duffel bag that he had brought with him and fled the scene, Montgomery County police said.

After the robbery, police received information suggesting that the suspect may have been in the area of the intersection of University Boulevard and Veirs Mill Road. Officers found him on a Ride On bus with the duffel bag, which contained the shotgun and the stolen property.

Julius has been charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and related firearms offenses, police said.
