Two injured in school bus crash in Leesburg

Two Loudoun County Public School vehicles were involved in a collision Monday morning that left two people injured, according to the Leesburg police.

The driver of a Loudoun County school bus that collided with a school utility truck was determined to be at fault in the accident, which occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Sycolin Road and Miller Drive SE in Leesburg, according to police.

The bus was not transporting any students at the time of the accident, authorities said. The driver, Ali Saghafi, 69, of Leesburg, was charged with reckless driving, authorities said.

One occupant of the utility truck was transported to Fairfax Inova Hospital with a head injury, and a second occupant was taken to Inova Cornwall Emergency Room for evaluation of non life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
