Armed men arrested after Burke burglaries

Two men were arrested Tuesday in connection with a string of burglaries in the Burke area, according to Fairfax County police.

Andrew Kovch, 27, and Jimmy Le, 23, have been charged with burglary, attempted burglary and grand larceny, police said.

In the first incident, police responded to a burglary in the 9800 block of Lake Meadow Court just before 1 p.m Tuesday. Ten minutes later, they responded to an alarm of a residence in the 10000 block of Waterside Drive, where a door had been forcibly opened.

Later in the afternoon, they responded to the 8600 block of Norfolk Ave. after a woman reported that she had seen a unknown man in her home.

Police stopped a vehicle matching the descriptions given by witnesses in the burglaries. Police said the officers found the driver armed with a semi-automatic pistol and discovered more than 200 rounds of ammunition, a loaded revolver, a mask and gloves inside the car.

Police said they also found property linking the suspects to the burglaries inside the car.

“We’re grateful to residents who paid close attention to details and called us right away, as these crimes were occurring,” Captain Joe Hill, Commander of the West Springfield Police District said in a statement. ”Thanks to good communications, our officers were able to link these men to these crimes and make apprehensions.”
