Two people were shot, one of them fatally, in the parking lot of a Forestville area shopping center Tuesday night, Prince George’s County police said.
Authorities were called for the sound of gunshots, after a wounded female victim ran into a store for help at the Penn Forest Shopping Center about 8:10 p.m., said Cpl. Evan Baxter, a spokesman. Police officers responded to the scene in the 3300 block of Walters Lane and found a male dead at the scene. Both victims appeared to be adults, but police had not confirmed their identities.
The woman was taken to a hospital with wounds that were not believed to be life threatening.
Police were not sure of a motive in the shootings.
