Two stabbed, wounded in Forestville fight

Two men were stabbed and seriously wounded in Forestville Monday night in a bizarre incident that ended with someone firing a shot at the men’s suspected attackers, authorities said.

The odd sequence of events began around 11:05 p.m., when two men got into a fight with two other men in the 6400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a Prince George’s County police spokesman. All those involved “seemed to know each other,” Johnson said.

Johnson said a man in one of the pairs stabbed both men in the other, leaving them with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. As the suspected stabber and the other man tried to flee in a vehicle, though, someone fired a gunshot. The shot hit the men’s vehicle, and they got out and fled on foot, Johnson said.

It is not clear who fired the shot, or if it might have hit one of the men inside the vehicle, Johnson said. He said police are still looking for those men — who are considered the “suspects” in the incident — and whoever fired the gunshot.
