Two stabbings reported in the District

D.C. police responded to two apparently unrelated stabbings within a few minutes of each other in different parts of the city Sunday morning.

In the first incident, officers responding to a disturbance call in the 1300 block of Montello Avenue NE, at 10:05 a.m., found an adult female with stab wounds, police said. She was transported to an area hospital. The extent of her injuries is unclear.

The second incident occurred in the 3600 block of Highwood Drive SE. Police responding to a 10:17 a.m. call found an adult male unconscious and not breathing following an apparent assault. The victim was taken to the hospital, and detectives with the violent crimes division are investigating. Police have not yet reported arrests in either case.
