Unidentified person found dead in Southeast D.C.

The skeletal remains of an unidentified person have been found in Southeast Washington, D.C. police reported Tuesday.

The remains were discovered at approximately 6:45 p.m. Sunday behind a building in the 2800 block of Buena Vista Terrace SE.

Police said the gender of the person and the cause of death are unknown.

The remains have been transported to the medical examiner’s office, where an autopsy will be performed.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call 202-727-9099.
