A Tuesday morning attack on a woman in the Burke area might be the twelfth one committed by a serial groper, Fairfax County police said.

The incident occurred about 10:28 a.m.., when a 49-year-old woman was running along Blarney Stone Drive near Omega Court in Burke, police said.

A man ran up behind the woman and fondled her, but she struck him and he fled, police said.

The suspect was described as Hispanic, between 25 and 30 years old and around 5’6” tall. He wore a red cap, black jacket and skinny blue jeans. Police had previously released a composite sketch of the suspect.

Police believe the same man may be responsible for 11 other attacks in and around Springfield. The incidents began the first week of September. The man has mostly targeted young women in their teens and 20s.
