The man police believe robbed six Arlington banks in recent months has been arrested.
Peter Cifala, 57, of the District, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of bank robbery, police said. Further charges may be forthcoming.
Investigators say they caught him with the help of tips that poured in after Cifala’s face was publicized. His image was caught on camera during the heists, police say.
The Northern Virginia Violent Crimes Taskforce, based out of the Washington Field Office of the FBI, arrested Cifala. He is being held in the Arlington jail.
