Victims in two D.C. stabbings identified

D.C. police have released the identities of two men killed in a pair of stabbings early Tuesday.

Northeast Washington resident Lamont A. Devore, 34, died of multiple stab wounds to his abdomen, police said. Police responded to the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue NE about 1:20 a.m. and found Devore at the scene. Paramedics transported him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Upper Marlboro resident Dwayne E. Brisbon, 33, died of stab wounds to the neck. Police responded about 2:15 a.m. to the scene outside Shaw’s Tavern in the 500 block of Florida Avenue NW and found Brisbon inside a car, police said. A Shaw’s Tavern employee who refused to give his name said the restaurant had not been damaged and no one inside was injured.

Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman, declined to give additional details about the stabbings and other recent homicides pending a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

Police encouraged anyone with information on either stabbing to call them at 202-727-9099 or anonymously text the department at 50411.
