Video: Suspects rob D.C. convenience stores

D.C. police are asking for the public’s help in identifying several suspects who have been robbing convenience stores in Northeast Washington.

In the first incident, police said three suspects armed with guns went into a 7-Eleven store in the 900 block of Division Ave NE in the Deanwood neighborhood just after 2 a.m on Nov. 27.

In a video clip police released Wednesday, one suspect jumped over the counter and demanded that the cashier empty the cash drawer. Meanwhile, another suspect ordered two customers in the store to drop to the floor. The suspects fled in a dark-colored vehicle, police said.

About two hours later around 4 a.m., two suspects armed with guns went into a 7-Eleven in the 2500 block of Benning Road NE in the Kingman Park neighborhood, police said.

The video released by police shows one suspect jumping over the counter and demanding money from the cashier. Meanwhile, a second suspect ordered customers inside the store to the floor and robbed them, police said. The suspects fled in a dark-colored car.

On November 28 just before 6 a.m., two suspects armed with guns went to the same 7-Eleven store that had been robbed the day before in Kingman Park, police said.

In that robbery, while the cashier handed over money from the register, one of the suspects held a gun to a customer and robbed him. The assailants again fled the scene in a dark colored-vehicle, police said.

About one-half hour later, two suspects armed with guns went to the Shop Express in the 3900 Benning Road, NE and robbed the store and its owner. The suspects got away.

D.C. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 202-727-9099 or 1-888-919-2746.
