Woman, 63, is slain in NE D.C.

A 63-year-old woman was fatally shot Thursday night inside a Northeast Washington apartment and D.C. police took one person into custody at the scene, officials said.
Police responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of 18th Street about 8:15 p.m., said Officer Hugh Carew, a spokesman.
Authorities took the wounded woman to a hospital where she died later, Carew said. Police took one person into custody at the home.
Officials did not release the victim's name late Thursday.
Former ANC commissioner Kathy Henderson said the incident appeared to be a domestic dispute between a husband and wife.
