Woman charged in D.C. man’s October killing

A 33-year-old woman faces murder charges in the fatal stabbing of a Notheast Washington man earlier this month.

D.C. police announced that that Tarkeyshia R. Brown, 33, of no fixed address, was arrested Friday by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and charged with first-degree murder for stabbing Jawan Parker, 31, of Northeast.

Parker was attacked October 16 in the Carver Langston neighborhood around 8:20 p.m. Police found Parker in the 1900 block of I St NE with several stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police said soon after the incident that they were looking for a female suspect.

There have been 95 homicides reported in the District so far this year, according to police.
