RICHMOND, Va. — One woman is dead and another remains hospitalized after Richmond police say the two sisters were stabbed on Sunday.

Authorities say police were called to the 3000 block of Hull Street for the report of a woman stabbed around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Police say the woman was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is in stable condition. She was not identified.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that after arriving on the scene, officers gathered information about a second victim nearby.

Richmond police say 29-year-old Rakita McClenny was found nearby and died at the scene.

Police did not provide any suspect information, but said detectives have developed a “very strong person of interest” in the incident.
