Woman killed in Beltway crash

A woman was killed when her car was struck by a dump truck on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway in the Oxon Hill area Friday morning, authorities said.

The woman, who police did not immediately identify because family members had yet to be told of her death, was headed southbound on the Beltway near Route 210 when she swerved to avoid some debris in the roadway, Maryland State Police said. Her car struck a guard rail, then swerved back onto the road in front of the dump truck, state police said. The dump truck T-boned the woman’s car, state police said.

State police said the woman was killed, and the dump truck driver was unhurt. The crash occurred about 9:15 a.m.
