Woman shot dead in Glenarden on Sunday morning

A D.C. woman was shot to death inside a Glenarden apartment early Sunday morning, and investigators believe the slaying stemmed from some type of domestic dispute, authorities said.

Prince George’s County and Glenarden police officers were called to the Glenarden Apartments in the 8400 block of Hamlin Street just before 3 a.m. for reported gunfire. They arrived to find 26-year-old Shariel M. McCutchen dead on the scene inside a third-floor apartment, said Glenarden Police Chief Philip A. O’Donnell.

McCutchen, who lived in D.C. but had a relationship with someone who lived in the apartment, had been shot in the head, O’Donnell said.

O’Donnell said Prince George’s County homicide detectives had obtained a warrant for someone believed to be responsible for the shooting, which stemmed from a domestic dispute. He did not immediately identify the suspect.
