Woman slain at Old Post Office identified

The homicide victim found this month in the heart of downtown Washington was identified Tuesday by the D.C. police as a 56-year-old Baltimore woman. Police gave her name as Barbara Lloyd.

She was found around 6:20 a.m. Aug. 8 near the Old Post Office Pavilion on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, one of the city’s most prominent landmarks. She had apparently been stabbed, police said.

No new information was provided Tuesday on any suspect or motive in her death.
