Police investigate stabbing at Northeast bus stop

Police are investigating a stabbing that left a person critically injured at a bus stop in Northeast Washington, D.C.

A Metro transit police officer was flagged down by a group of people, and the officer found the victim at a bus shelter, a Metro spokesman said. Officers were called to the 4900 block of East Capitol Street about 8:15 p.m., said Officer Paul Metcalf, a spokesman.

The victim, who appeared to be an adult, was found unconscious at the scene and taken to the hospital

Authorities are trying to determine the victim’s identity. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
