Maybe D.C. needs its own bicycle and pedestrian awareness week? An anonymous griper takes issue with drivers not stopping for pedestrians at the intersection of Piney Branch and Sheridan Avenue in the Northwest Brightwood neighborhood.

“Cars do not stop for pedestrians at this busy crosswalk. During off-peak hours, this isn’t a problem, but many people cross this as a part of their morning or evening commute,” he reported. “Please, at least install one of those neon pylons on the center line to remind drivers of their legal obligation to yield to pedestrians.”

John Lisle, a spokesman for the District Department of Transportation, said that the department is taking a look at the location.
