Intercounty Connector: How was the ride?

The first work week navigating the mostly completed Intercounty Connector between Montgomery and Prince George’s counties is behind us. The last major link of the 18-mile toll road opened to travelers on Nov. 22, fittingly, the eve of the Thanksgiving weekend getaway. But holiday traffic isn’t the fairest yardstick to judge a road’s success or failure — the daily commuting grind tells the tale. And the six-lane road, whose tolls begin Monday, has been touted to cut commuters’ trips in half.
