Stumped: a tree planting request in Georgetown

Our griper wants a new tree planted where this stump now sits. (mwander)
We don’t know why the tree at 1901 Wisconsin Ave. in Georgetown was cut down, but a stump sits squarely where a tree obviously used to be. Griper mwander discovered it earlier this week and requested that it be ground up and a new tree planted in its stead.

“We will take care of the stump,” said John Lisle, a spokesman for the District Department of Transportation. “They should call 311 to make sure it’s on our list. We plant trees in the winter and publish our tree-planting list when we start in late October/early November.”
