Thirsty in Garfield Park

Hope you brought a water bottle, this fountain's out of service. (Kelly Vielmo)

Not even a swig of Gatorade can be more satisfying than a cold drink of water on some sun-soaked days. Running around to the point of exhaustion playing flag football or hide-and-seek at the park can make one crawl to the nearest water fountain.

Which can leave the thirsty out of luck at one corner of Garfield Park, where Griper Kelly Vielmo reported an out-of-service water fountain at the Capitol Hill facility, which sits at 120 F St. SE.

The fountain is nearest New Jersey Avenue SE. We’ll find out when the fountain will be fixed, and in the meantime make sure you pack some bottles of water to quench your thirst.
