McKinley principal reinstated

DCPS has announced that it has reinstated McKinley Technology High School Principal David Pinder because of issues surrounding the integrity of the investigation.

Acting Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson reinstated Pinder effective Monday.

The school system released a statement about the reinstatement:

Principal Pinder was placed on paid administrative leave last week as a necessary precaution given recent allegations made in conjunction with an existing security investigation. Since then, the individual assigned to investigate the McKinley allegations has admitted that he gave false information to witnesses. While this conduct did not directly relate to the validity of the allegations against Principal Pinder, it may have compromised the integrity of some or all of the information which has been collected in this investigation. The Office of the General Counsel and the Office of School Security are currently reviewing the information gathered by the investigator to ensure that it is credible, reliable and completed in a timely manner.
