A Wakefield Washington-Lee halfcourt game winner

“Junior Winston Duncan nailed a long three-pointer in the final seconds to lift Washington-Lee into the National District title game,” read The Post’s blurb after the Generals topped Wakefield, 63-60, last week.

Well, sure he did. And Willie Mays once made a nice grab in center field to help the Giants beat the Indians in the postseason.

Anyhow, this particular game was tied at 30 60 when Duncan flung an overhead shot half the length of the floor and banked it in, leading to madness. The Generals went on to lose the Nationals District title game to Edison, and lost in the first round of the Virginia AAA tournament, but still.
