Every mass movement starts with a few brave individuals who aren’t willing to accept the status quo, and are willing to risk embarrassment and estrangement to recruit others to the cause, and so it has been with Let Teddy Win. From a small but hardy band of fan crusaders, the movement has lately picked up steam, with Jayson Werth using both words and actions to try to help the cause.
Two more Major Leaguers jumped on board over the weekend.
“I watch the presidents race every night. Teddy needs to win a race,” Tyler Moore said, via @LetTeddyWin.
And if you think that was something, how about Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, actually wearing a Let Teddy Win button during batting practice. (More photos here.)
“Why doesn’t Teddy ever win?” Jones asked Let Teddy Win. “They need to let him win.)
(More awesomely, Jones suggested a new sort of race. “I’d like to see them get some real presidents out there,” he said. “Have George W. race Obama. Who do you think would win that race?”
Dunno, but I’d sure enjoy watching it, especially if Screech were cheering them on.)

And since this entire blog post is just ripping off content from Let Teddy Win, please watch Teddy just destroy the Oriole bird during Saturday’s race, below. That’s the next best thing to him winning; taking out enemy mascots with full force.
