
Not that you care, but one of the first deadline pieces I ever wrote for The Washington Post concerned a Hylton high school basketball game involving Ahmad Brooks in February of 2002.
Now here we both are, nine years later. Brooks — always better known for football than hoops — is signing a six-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers, having just completed a career year that included seven sacks and 59 tackles. And I’m posting a blog item to point out that he wore a Curly W Nats hat to the signing ceremony.
So we’re both huge successes, is what I’m saying.
