American University draws non-crowd for CIT opener

Did last-minute plans prevent you from going to Wednesday night’s CIT opener between American and Buffalo at Bender Arena.

Well, you and everyone else. With students on Spring Break and UB not one of the sexier opponents, the announced attendance was 256. These photos, via here and here, seem to indicate that was an accurate number.

“Looks like a ‘friends and family’ crowd tonight at Bender Arena,” UB’s play-by-play announcer tweeted.

“Not a large crowd, but a good Buffalo contingent,” UB’s sports-information department tweeted.

“When I say there is nobody at Bender Arena for the American vs. UB CIT game, I literally mean nobody,” one fan wrote.
