Arron Asham motions lights out to Jay Beagle

The videos of Arron Asham punching Jay Beagle in the mouth and knocking him out in bloody fashion are everywhere, but none are more captivating than this clip, in which Asham classily indicates that he has put Beagle to sleep.

Can’t imagine that will ever be discussed inside the Caps’ dressing room. Video below.

I will be doing a chat Friday on how the Caps should best respond when the Penguins visit Verizon Center on Dec. 1.

Video Q&A

"How should the Capitals respond the next time they face the Penguins?"

Update: Asham later said he regretted the move.

“Obviously I want to win but I don’t want to go out there and hurt anyone,” he said. “My gestures after it was done, I was into the game. It was uncalled for, classless on my part. I think those guys over there know I’m not that kind of guy to be going off, but it was a big game, I wanted to get my bench going. Classless move on my part.”
