Brandon Banks has claimed to be the fastest man on the Redskins for several years, and the arrival of Robert Griffin III didn’t changed his opinion.
Asked this week about RGIII’s speed, Banks was effusive with praise, but not before getting in a dig.
“I’m gonna put it out there, I am faster than him,” Banks told ESPN 980’s Kevin Sheehan. “Everybody keeps telling me that he says he’s faster than me....I’m way faster than him. Way faster than him.”
Sheehan then pointed out that Griffin ran a 4.3 in the 40; “I ran a 4.2,” Banks said. “I’m the fastest guy on the team. I mean, everybody think they fast.”
Asked to name the five fastest Redskins, Banks pointed to Anthony Armstrong, Aldrick Robinson, Griffin, Josh Wilson and DeAngelo Hall.
“I mean, he in the top 10, but he’s getting up there in his age,” Banks said of Hall. “It’s [taking] a little bit of a toll on him.”
Banks was also asked about his Twitter account, which has been dormant since July 7.
“I don’t even have twitter no more,” Banks said. “Just need to be focused on football. It’s a big year for me.”
