Bruce Boudreau declines to discuss upcoming arenas

(Mark Gail - WASHINGTON POST)
Monday morning, Bruce Boudreau made his weekly appearance on 105.9 The Edge with Kirk and Mike. Normally, I might not mention that, but this was his first appearance since he sort of made some headlines in that space a week ago. And so the first question was about word associations....

“I don’t want to play any more word games with you guys,” Boudreau quipped.

“Wells Fargo Center, Consol Energy Center, HSBC Arena....” he was asked.

“No, no, you guys had your fun in the sun last week,” Boudreau said.

He was asked whether there was pre-planned gamesmanship in his MSG comments, any ruse to take pressure off his team.

“I’m not that smart,” Boudreau said.

He was asked about the very loud home crowd on Saturday.

“It was a basic lovefest-type thing,” Boudreau said. “And you could tell. I mean, they were having fun up there. All your [No MSG] signs that you guys were giving away, because you guys are goofs.”

And he was asked again about the venues the Caps might be visiting in coming weeks.

“They’re all fabulous arenas,” Boudreau said.
