Caps fans answer Rangers crowd with ‘Ovi’ chant

Starting with the first period of Game 1, Rangers fans in Madison Square Garden began chanting mean things about Alex Ovechkin at the 8-minute mark of every period.

After his game-winning goal in the third period of Game 2, Alex Ovechkin indicated to the crowd that he could no longer hear them.

By Game 3, Ovechkin and his team came home, and at the 8-minute mark of every period — all 16 of them — the home fans saluted their captain. As seen, and heard, here.

Organic crowd reactions are a good thing, and this one started with some fans in the 400-level, near as I could tell.
