Caps get Tebowed in L.A.

Not only did the Kings’ Jack Johnson Tebow after scoring against the Caps Monday night — “kind of a stupid celebration,” Karl Alzner said after the game — he also prompted a nice little discussion of the phenomenon in the Caps broadcast booth.

“Waiiiiiiiit a minute, did he just do a Tebow in the corner?” Joe Beninati asked.

“Yes he did, that was a Tebow celebration by Jack Johnson,” Craig Laughlin confirmed.

Then Laughlin surmised that Baltimore Caps fans would approve of Johnson’s bit, since they would have been happy to see Tebow beat the Steelers on Sunday, which doesn’t necessarily mean that they’d want their favorite team to give up goals in California, but these are strange times we’re living in, so you never know.
