Cardinals fan sends Mike Rizzo a gift basket

The Nats may be at home golfing, but their impact on the Major League Baseball postseason rolls on, and not just because Nyjer Morgan and Jerry Hairston Jr. are somehow contributing to a playoff team.

The St. Louis Cardinals, of course, finished a mere one game ahead of the Atlanta Braves in the NL wild card race. And the Braves lost two of three in Washington during the season’s final week, when the Nats had absolutely nothing to play for.

Which is why Cardinals fan Mike Engdale decided to send along some tasty treats from Mrs. Beasley’s to Mike Rizzo at Nats Park.

I mean, I’m sure Rizzo would rather be in the postseason himself, but barring that, some lemon mini tea cakes probably go down pretty well.
