Both sets were made by Moscow on the Potomac, an online business started by Mary Jo Myers — the wife of former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Richard Myers — her daughters, and a friend who lived in Russia for five years.
Their offerings include imported hand-carved and hand-painted Santa figures, table linens and Faberge egg pendants. And also Matryoshka, or nesting dolls, individualized for D.C. sports teams.
The shop will customize the figures for any team, though Washington-area teams appear to be a specialty, based on this Jayson Werth-Ovechkin-Nick Young trio. There’s also a local show on Nov. 11 at the Army-Navy Country Club from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
