D.C. sports trivia quiz: Prove how much you know about Washington’s pro teams

What were the names of the parking lots at the old Capital Centre in Landover?

If you think you know the answer to that question, scroll down to take The Post’s D.C. sports trivia quiz. It’s 30 questions long and focuses on the D.C. area’s major pro sports team, past and present. All but three of the questions were submitted by readers a little more a week ago.

It’s also a modified version of the quiz we had the three finalists in D.C.’s Greatest Sports Fan contest take, with the guy with the highest score — John Mann of Silver Spring — winning $1,000 worth of sports tickets. The finalists’ version of the quiz was nearly all fill-in-the-blank, and Mann earned 32 out of a potential 54 points.

The runners-up were Michael Ortman of Ellicott City (30 points) and John Pence of Silver Spring (29). They each won $250 worth of tickets.

If you want to take the quiz the way Mann, Ortman and Pence did, click this link and try the full version. It’s not interactive — just a list of questions with answers at the very bottom — but it’s definitely more demanding.

We hope you enjoy the quiz, and please let us know what you think in the comments (Note: This comment thread is shared among several Post blogs).

Oh, and the parking lot question is No. 9 on the quiz. you’ll have to take a stab to find out the answer (until someone posts it in the comments, at least).
