We’ve all had our share of fun joking about some of the low-end MLS salaries, but this week took things to the next level.
D.C. United captain Dax McCarty revealed via Twitter that rookie defender — and D.C. native — Ethan White downed a plate of raw jellyfish for 40 bucks.
“#gottpaythebills,” was how McCarty explained it.
“It was disgusting,” White wrote, when I asked if this really happened.
And no, I don’t think he really did this because he had to pay the bills.
UPDATE: White is actually pretty well-compensated, and certainly not on MLS’s low-end. So someone else will have to figure out why he ate a full plate of raw jellyfish for $40.
